PANOPTX EYEWEAR INTRODUCES PHOTOCHROMIC POLARIZED COPPER LENS AT FLY-FISHING RETAILER WORLD TRADE EXPO 2006

New Lens Adds Performance Choices for Fishing Enthusiasts

PLEASANTON, Calif. (August 24, 2006) – Building upon the success of its line launched last year specifically engineered for fishing enthusiasts, Panoptx is introducing the next generation of its marine eyewear this week in Denver at the Fly-Fishing Retailer World Trade Expo. Debuting at this show is Panoptx’ PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized Copper lens, a breakthrough lens technology made in virtually shatterproof NXT®. Its superior optical quality and polarized filter enable consumers to see objects more clearly through water. The light-sensitive lenses automatically darken in bright sun and lighten in low light. This new lens is exclusively available in the Velocity CV series in the Diablo, Raptor, Sirocco, and Solano, a women’s specific style, and in the Speed Series in Avanti and Gale, also for women, and in the Rush, Typhoon, Vortex, and Zip.

The PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized Copper lens has a waterproof coating to keep the lenses clean and clear in all conditions. In the Velocity CV Series, a patented Orbital Seal™ creates a complete eyecup that provides 100% UV protection while blocking out wind, sun, water and sand. In addition, the eyecup completely eliminates the back glare that causes eye fatigue, important for fishing aficionados who are out on the water all day.

“The addition of the PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized Copper lens extends the breadth of our line providing an important point of difference in a crowded marketplace,” said Jackson Hogen, vice president of marketing, research and development. “We are offering more choices for a wider range of conditions enabling consumers to excel at what they love to do.”

In addition to the PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized lenses, the marine line features color-boosting polarized ColorTec lenses that intensify primary hues and increase contrast, improving underwater definition. The Polarized ColorTec lenses are available in either Copper, which is preferable in variable light, or Gray for the open water in full sun.

There are four models of the marine line offered in the flagship Velocity CV Series, featuring the removable Orbital Seal™ eyecup: Diablo, Raptor, Sirocco, and Solano, a newer addition from the ladies’ line, with MSRPs of $250 in PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized Copper and Gray and $175 in ColorTec Polarized Copper or Gray. In addition, there are six Speed Series models with an air dam that helps reduce the impact of wind and glare: the Typhoon, Vortex, Rush and Zip along with new ladies’ models, Avanti and Gale. All models in PureTec™ Photochromic Polarized Copper or Gray have an MSRP of $195. In ColorTec Polarized Gray or Copper, the Rush and Zip post MSRP’s of $125, while the Avanti, Gale, Typhoon and Vortex each have an MSRP of $135.
